This was a lovely workshop where we learnt how to paint flowers in a soft and dreamy way. Danni gave us a lot of tips on drawing, such as, how to place an object in your painting by using dots to mark the top point, bottom point and sides to give you a perimeter in which to draw. She demonstrated many of her techniques. We painted a red rose in a traditional way from light to dark, wet on dry. However, for the yellow rose we saturated the paper on both sides and laid the paper on our backing board while it was still dripping wet. It was almost like painting in negative as the rose looked like nothing until the background was painted.
A truly enjoyable and very informative workshop, which was enjoyed by all!
Congratulations to all our winners.
